Seeing how you don't have any dates or locations to start with, you might want to try looking up what records there might be on:
www.familysearch.org
This is a free site. Although some records from other related sites might require a fee for copies of whatever record(s) you might find there, (ie., find a grave). You can do just a simple name look up and see if any records come up that might lead you where you want to go. Sometimes using less info is better, but if you have at least a state or country to use with the name, that may narrow your search a bit.
