Can anyone verify that William Stone born 1645, wife Sarah, maiden is Howard?

A quick suggestion- Check out Sherrysharp.com "Our Family History". Her research shows WIlliam Stone b 1645, wife Sarah. This may be the one you are looking for-she has lots of Stone lineage listed.

Unfortunately like so many other sites it will take some weeding out where different geneologies have mixed several Stone familes up.  I did however come up with some leads to other family ancestors that I want to check out.  If you find anything else please let me know.  I will spend some additional time on the site you gave me and see what matches what I already know and maybe get some leads on some unknown last names of greats***grandmothers that state unknown.

Good Day, Ms. Cheryl! come from a long line of Stones. Just today I found William Stone b. 1658 with a wife named Sarah Howard. Here is a link at Ancestry.com:

It's not an exact match, but it is very close.

(Maternal Grandmother is a Stone. Her father was the seventh son of a seventh son, so there are a whole lot of kin out there. That is probably one of the reasons it is so hard to keep this line straight)

I am a Stone by birth, my father is one of 11 kids, so yes this is a very large family.  At the time of William Stone and his wife Sarah there were at least 7 William Stone's.  Many people have mixed the Early Govenor of Maryland's (who is a different set of Stone's than my family) family tree with my ancestors family Tree.  I almost certain that the year my William was born in is 1645, but I will check out your information.

Cheryl - I am researching the Howard lineage.  I have a Sarah Stone (Howard) born in 1645, died in 1717 having married Capt. William Stone - b.1645, d. 1707.  Sarah had two brothers, Thomas A. Howard and James Obediah Howard (b. 1660, d. 1729).  Sarah's parents are Francis Edward Howard (1639-1722) and Mary Howard (Chowan) (1644-1722).  My Howard line follows James Obediah Howard.  I hope this helps point you in the right direction.  Cheryl

How can Francis Howard be Sarah's father if he was born 1639 and she 1645?  He would have bee about 6 years old.  I have been given this answer before and the dates just do not jive.  Still looking; Here is on Tree I have found that the dates line up but research does not always show Sarah Howard in other simalar historic family trees;

OMG Cheryl, I'm so sorry.  I wrote down "Siblings" and listed Sarah Stone and Thomas A. Howard as James Obediah Howard's siblings.  Perhaps she's a sibling to Francis Edward Howard?  I was tired and could have listed that wrong or goofed entirely.  I will look again and if I can help with the correct answer, I will get in touch.  So sorry... my first answer on this website and it's an entire goof!!! Again Francis on this born 1639 could not father Sarah 1645, Birth dates are more like siblings, and I do not think he could be 6 years old at her birth.

Here are the children listed historically for  Francis Howard,  Sarah was not one of them.  Remeber Howard is not the proven maiden of Sarah.  It has also been assumed that her last name was Lewis since the Lewis family had close ties with the Stone family at that time.
