Trying to find info on husband's gr-gr-gr-father, Elijah Agnew b. abt 1820, prob. S.C., married Susannah Nix, dau. of possibly Daniel Nix from S.C. They lived in the Northeast area of GA around Royston area just across the S.C. line. Elijah was in Civil War & is buried at Camp Chase, OH. George McDuffy(McDuffie) Agnew is my husband's gr-gr-gr-father & some of his siblings are: William Carlisle, Ludlow Paul,Daniel Harrison, all lived in the same GA area. My husband's father was Leonard Agnew who married Sally Grace Westmoreland. There is a cousin in her 80's who has been trying for many yrs. to join the DAR but hasn't been able to due to not finding who Elijah's father was. Any info you may be able to provide will be deeply appreciated as she dearly wants to fulfill this desire while still here.
