..it's best practice to add the sources as you develop your profiles.  For instance your dad is listed as being born in the 1930s so he is likely listed on a 1940 census at least.  His father is born in the 1910s so he should be on the 1920, 1930 and 1940 census and maybe more.  That way, it's easier for others to see and to help you find records for the previous generation.  Anyway, best of luck!
And how would I list this and where? I apologize but this is very complicated. For m at least!!!!
See the census on your other question.

Frank's parents were Ben and Jane.

Unless you know the plantation they were on before the war, it's nearly impossible to go further back past the 1870 census.
I also found it complicated for the first couple of years.  Here's an example of a profile where I've put a narrative for the 1940 census but only the citations for the 1920 and 1930 censuses.  You can click the edit tab and see how it looks "behind the scenes" so to speak. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Powell-9074

Until you get the hang of things, you could maybe just post the citations for the different records, that's what I did.  Under the drop-down menu which is at the top-right on profiles (the second column which has the Wikitree-ID of the profile) click that and then click Research.  Then click Family Search.  Try that and then make another comment here on any needed further instructions.  Best of luck.

Based on recent research I have done on this particular group of Franklins, I found these names listed above on a 1900 US Census in which Jessie is the son of Frank Franklin:

"United States Census, 1900," database with images, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M3LD-1PF : accessed 4 June 2018), Frank Franklin, Justice Precinct 2, Cass, Texas, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) 21, sheet 18B, family 321, NARA microfilm publication T623 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 1972.); FHL microfilm 1,241,618.

Then I found Frank is the son of Stephen and Elizer Franklin:

"United States Census, 1880," database with images, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MFJ3-QYV : 15 July 2017), Frank Franklin in household of Stephen Franklin, Precinct 4, Morris, Texas, United States; citing enumeration district ED 96, sheet 156D, NARA microfilm publication T9 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.), roll 1320; FHL microfilm 1,255,320. and Jessie is the son of Frank.

Still searching for the father of Stephen Franklin however.
