Elizabeth (Powell) Blair-20 shows different maiden name than her father O'Neal-915, his age 10 when she's born?

Question

Researching John Powell and Mary (Powell) O'Neal 1700 to 1800. Trying to find siblings living in same area during early 1700's, possibly showing who the parents were of the O'Neal's. While reading Blair-20, got very confused. It appears that both Elizabeth and Mary could have a father with the surname O'Neal. Being they were both born in the same area, close in age, and both married a Powell, then named their children with same names. Looks like they may be sisters. However, data on Elizabeth and her father needs to be corrected.

In my FTM files, I have BLAIR and McNeil. A James McNeil originated in Mayo, Ireland about 1810-1870, married to a Mary Redmond. This is what I have, but, all data could have mistakes.

 

I also have a James E., 2 John's, William, and a Joseph McNeill, and Samuel McNeill, and a Mary McNiel.

 

I have a Olive O'Neal, married to a James Clayborn Cottingham.

I don't think is the people you are searching for.

It appears you are looking at a different Elizabeth Blair who married a Powell. Wiki Tree i.d. is Blair-20. She was born about 1723 in Virginia, (now USA), Her father's i.d. is O'Neal-915, born about 1713. I think that the Mary O'Neal we are researching is from an O'Neal family that moved from Virginia to Tennessee,. I thank you for seeing my note so quickly. When we find the father's name of Mary O'Neal b;about 1721, then it is very likely his family will be traced back to Ireland. Do they compare O'Neal to McNeal in Ireland?
