How do I add a person as a profile manger?

Trying to add someone as a co-manager to a couple of profiles that we are both descendants of, but I seem to be going in circles.  I also tried to add her to the trusted lists without apparent success, although she shouldn't have to be on a list to edit them as the profiles are open and she has signed the honor pledge.

On the privacy tab, go down to add to trusted list.  Add the person's email there.  After the person is on the trusted list you can add as manager more easily.

And the email has to be the one they are registered with here.
