I have stopped updating my Ancestry tree, and will probably delete it after I have moved the rest of it to Wikitree. I like FTM and would like to have my direct line from WT  on it , but would hate to have to source again. If course, I would also hate to get the mess that my Ancestry gedcom  made in Wikitree. Don't want much, just perfection.

Mary, I can't speak to what will happen in FTM as I don't use it. I will say that the GEDCOM exports I have done from WikiTree to other programs (RootsMagic, Legacy, The Master Genealogist, and GedView for my tablet) do include sources.

The caveat is that the sources and anything else in the biography space is imported as one great big note. The sources are not separated and put in to whatever the individual data fields the program uses.

I'd suggest creating a gedcom at wikitree for one or two profiles that which good sourcing. Then import the gedcom in to FTM in a new database to see what it looks like.

Thanks, DebI, I was afraid that would be the case. I'll do that and see what happens. If it doesn't work, family members can just come look at them here instead of getting a fancy report.
