wrong ancestor in my tree, how do I delete and put the right one.

I was given the wrong spelling for my ancestor and found out that it is not George Johnston, but the surname Johnson.  I have found all of this lineage and would like to add them to my tree, but first have to remove George and Susanna Johnston, and disconnect them from my tree.

On the edit page, you can edit the last name at birth to Johnson, giving a reason in the box for change, such as last name at birth established through birth/marriage record or whatever source you have to support the name.

Open the profile page of George Johnston.  Look over to the right hand side of the page.  See where he is connected to people in your tree?  Press edit and remove.   Then save your changes.  That should do it...
