No, I didn't do that, yet. Although I often put a link to the relationships into profiles when I find a couple of fifth cousins who married, and such things.

What I was thinking with the Cochoit Connection was more that now we have a new path to the global tree. I wonder for how many persons it will replace the Streed connection.

Well, it's just a sort of party game, but sort of interesting to watch, anyway.

I don't usually check the new monthly anchor persons - but last summer I went through the connections to the regular anchor persons and worked on removing some of the spurios (williams-anders) connections to royalty.

Problems like williams-anders is something I think Wikitree should address?!?!?

My suggestion has been to have better user profiles with more statstics and some quality measurement.... williams-anders I guess has uploaded some 1000 profiles that at least in Sweden is not genealogy....

I worked quite a lot at disentangling my network from the shoddy, sticky Williams-Anders stuff. Sourcing some, disconnecting some of the worst. Once that was done I don't go actively hunting for it. It's a lot more satisfying to work on the real kinship networks I share with other wikitreers.

I think I'm going to fill in a bit more of the descendants of Per Larsson - who knows what more may pop up.

She fits into the typical multiple-versions-of-a-name scheme of old Sweden.

She is Karin in her birth record, Karin in her death record, Cajsa in the household record image. Katarina seems only to be in the linked family tree, so in this case an example of the standardization principle used in most Swedish genealogy. But it is more or less only by chance she is not in any of the records as Catharina.

Yes, good blogpost.

What is interesting about the multiple-versions-of-a-name scheme is that quite often children have what we today think of as the nickname version (Stina, Cajsa, Lisa) in the birth book - and then in household records you find them sometimes with the most formal version (Christina, Catharina, Elisabeth) and sometimes with the everyday version (Kerstin, Karin - Lisbeth doesn't quite fit in here (you don't find it in all parishes)). But they may just as well be christened with the most formal name - the mixture goes every which way.

Gift år 1760 med afl(ed)ne soldaten Carl Ersson Wetterskog, lef-wat til samman på 9de åhret, födt 3 söner och 2 döttrar, hwilka alla i stor fattigdom efterlefwa. Blef Enka 1769. Warit en still och sachtmodig hustru, som altid wa-rit förnögd i största fattigdom. Dn 17 Dec. bittida om morgonen timade den olyckan då hon skiöt en kälcka framför sig i tanc-ka at för sig och sina fattiga barn här i byn få något understöd, skiönkit(?) under i åmunnd på andra siön, och där ändade sitt timliga lif; dagen effter igen fun-nen och begrofs dn 22 d(it)o. 39 åhr, 2 dygn.

More than cool and very sad she was out begging for food in the winter. I guess her last time in life being alone and hungry in the water feeling that she will die and have hungry children at home is more than terrible.... who took care of the children...

I think the worst problem is that so many of the clerics had really bad handwriting: flowing lines where you just see one long wavy line with a few curls; spiky handwriting like barbed wire; clumsy handwriting with lots of inkblobs and lines that run into each other...

The Skinnskatteberg F2 is one of the nicer ones. Readable handwriting and lots of detail with just a bearable measure of their Christian education and status.

@Jillaine I guess you have to read the text in the historical context they lived in and who was writing the document...

Today Sweden is secular but when Karin Ohlsdotter lived then everyone had to visit the church etc... and I guess protesting was nearly criminal plus starvation and crop failures made life unpredictable...

As the obit was written by the priest and he was part of governing authorities I guess from his point of view a good citizen was a person that visited the church and paid to the church but didnt argue......
