Can u clarify the following debacle of dates ???

Thomas Altman, b.1755 marries Lydia Rowland  12 Oct  1809 and has a son, Thomas, b. 1786.

According to information, Thomas, b. 1786, at age 23, marries Lucy Leigh on the same date as his father's marriage. According to my math when you take all dates into consideration, there was a nine(9) year window before Thomas (1755) marries Thomas' (1786) mother.

Is this correct or am I missing a HUGE piece of the puzzle??

Lydia Rowland was 44 when she married Thomas Atlman (age 54) 1809.

At a guess, the Lydia who was the mother of Thomas Jr., was not Lydia Roland, but another Lydia, married sometime before Thomas Jr. was born in 1786.

The above based upon this link.
