I made a mess, need to correct a merge......

I merged Baxter-1620.  While attempting to merge Baxter-1622 with Baxter 30669, I am not on the trusted list of 1622 so cannot complete the merge.  However, Baxter 1622 is now being shown as the brother of Baxter 30669 due to the fathers being the same (Baxter 1620).  Help.  Maybe unmerge Baxter 1620 (now Baxter 1621)?  Not sure what to do, and don't want to leave a mess in here.

....to me it seems OK.  It'll look like that until the two profiles for Russell Baxter are merged.  One thing you might do different is re-initiate the merge instead of leaving them as an unmerged match.  Since the other profile has yellow privacy it'll be up to the other profile manager to OK and/or complete the merge.

Go the profile page of the person you want to unmerge.

Click on the changes tab

You should see in the list where the merge was requested.

Click on the line

You should see the previous version and the new version.

Select the previous version.

Once a merge is completed, you can't unmerge, it's not actually possible. All you can do is recreate the other person, add/remove relationships to the two profiles and edit the bios to get back to where you were. If you have not rolled back or edited the bio since the merge, there will still be two distinct bios under the one person. If you have rolled back, then info could be lost.

If however the merge is incomplete and is still only a proposed merge, you can set it as a rejected match so it doesn't happen again by someone else. Don't remove the rejected match, it's there to notify others.
