Dear Thomas,

You are correct.  Harriet A. Shepherd Colby is not listed among the children of James Shepherd-3790 and Marie D. Desjardins-267.  Do you want to add her, or should I do it?

The Find-a-Grave link above can be a listed source.  It would be good to find her in the 1870 or 1880 census with her family as a better source.

    Let me know. -NGP

If you don't mind please add here.  I'm struggling with the interface. I have some other people to add in too. My dad is one of them.

Dear Thomas,

All set.  I created a profile for Harriet A Shepherd-3999 Colby. Also for her husband William A Colby-1224.  For him, the only source I put up was his Find-a-Grave link.  For Harriet, I found the 1880 census enumeration in Michigan, USA and linked that as well as her F-a-Grave.

Good luck with your other entries.  -NGP

Dear Thomas,

I have brought the William & Harriet (Shepherd) Colby family up to the 1910 census in Michigan, USA.  Hopefully, you can now attach to this line without too much difficulty.

When Harriet died in 1904, William apparently married her sister Adelaide Shepherd-3795.  I found two children that are likely Adelaide's with William.  Do you know if Irvin Colby was son of Harriet or Adelaide?  I linked the 1910 census on their profiles.

Good luck on your tree.  -NGP

Thank, you

After her death her sister, Adelaide, married Will.  The children born ater her death in 1904 were with Adelaide

Yes,  Irwin fits here.  I actual meet him when I was a child. he was my father's uncle.  My dad was Larwence and Ana Colby's child.

From Find grave

William Colby

Birth:     Jan. 11, 1864
Saint Clair
St. Clair County
Michigan, USA
Death:     Jun. 28, 1911
Hubbard Lake
Alpena County
Michigan, USA

Outgoing & adventurous, Will met Hattie in about 1886 in Detroit, Michigan. He moved to Passadena, California in 1887, but returned in 1888. He & Hattie were wed 24 Dec. 1888 in Minden, Mi. Will was a talented carpenter & home builder, also ran saw mills in Ossineke & Hubbard Lake (Alpena, Michigan). After Hattie's death, Will married her sister, Addie who had come to care for the children during Hattie's illness.

Family story tells of Will, a fan of Jesse James, having met the son of Jesse James in Alpena, Michigan. The son identified himself by showing a locket with pictures & stated that he was in Alpena to try to find money his father had hidden there.
