I created a new profile when I was trying to add an existing one

I was trying to attach Townsend-1735 to my grandmother and somehow created a new one (Townsend-5365) that needs to be deleted or merged.  I'm not sure what to do next.

I'd just set the two up for a merge and once it's accepted by both Profile Managers, it will go away. The only other option would be to re-use the profile for another relative, and just overwrite all the information. That way is just slightly messy, so the merge is generally the better way to go.

Just FYI, WikiTree does not delete profiles (generally speaking), so that is rarely an option.

Propose a merge.

Across the G2G toolbar select  ADD then MATCHES & MERGES .

Now propose the merge of the higher into the lower profiles, then merge.

Thanks, I did that and now it says it's set as Rejected Matches.  I think this is because the correct one shows the spouse (Bigbee) but isn't in the name of the person.  When I created the profile, I added the married name.  For Rejected Matches, does someone go back and merge later?

Just below the orange heading of the rejected merge, you have the opportunity to remove the Rejected Merge

If being sure of the merge, then remove and re propose a further merge with your explanation.
