Correction needed to Kimball-2141, Abigail Kimball Tyler

+2 votes

Hello, I'd like to make a change but I don't want to step on any toes.  The information that Kimball-2141 was the daughter of Richard Kimball and Mehitable Day is not correct:  Find-A-Grave has it wrong (I keep finding problems with Find-A-Grave being incorrect, wow, lots of issues). The  Abigail Kimball who married Jacob Tyler and died of smallpox in 1722, was the daughter of Thomas Kimball (1665-1732) and Deborah Pemberton (1668-1726).  My sources are:

1) Tyler Genealogy. Descendants of Job Tyler, of Andover, Mass., 1619-1700. By Willard Irving Tyler Brigham. 1912. (2v.):51

2) Massachusetts, Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988, Town and City Clerks of Massachusetts. Massachusetts Vital and Town Records. Provo, UT: Holbrook Research Institute (Jay and Delene Holbrook, Operations, Inc., 2011, Provo, UT, USA

Furthermore, one of the sources on the profile, and I looked at all of them to be sure, cites  "Abigal, w. Jacob, jr., June 7, 1752, in her 26th y." (Andover Deaths) This is the wrong Abigail.  The Abigail Kimball Tyler in question died in 1722, not 1752.

There is one secondary source in which the information is incorrect, that being "The History of the Kimball Family."  There were apparently two Abigail Kimballs, one born in April 1699 and the other in August of 1700.

Do I have a green light to go ahead and make the change?  Thanks!

All the best,

Alycia Keating

Hi Alycia,

WikiTree is all about collaboration.

Taking into account the last change to Abigail's profile was on Feb. 2016 and the PM has no activity since last November there can't be no point in traying to get in touch with him. I'd go on with the change based on your findings.

Plus any changes you made are saved on the changes log.
