Could WT create a location-based to-do list?

1. view a list of to-do items, sorted by proximity to a location (typically where you live, but could also be a place you are visiting).

2. add a comment/status, similar to "errors".

3. add a to-do list item.

Obvious example: gravestone confirmation. More involved: library visit, check specific item in specific record. Another one: is there a corner stone with a date on the building at an address.

There could be a karma-point system. People may be more inclined to help someone with high karma points? You get a point when you claim success on a to-do item. Item creation instructions should include how to precisely define success.

Separate list, similar idea: sources that are not online, e.g. a published genealogy one does not have a copy of, and is unlikely to be in a library.

Dana, I really like this idea. I'm going to try to implement something like it.

Well, you can always start a One Place Study and make a page with to-do lists on it which people interested in this place can list things they'd like to have looked for or found in a library or courthouse, etc.  I have a smallish one on Monroe Township, Licking County, Ohio but I haven't had any other people so far show an interest.  But I have marked about 250 profiles which show up on the main page.  If you start something like that you need  to categorize appropriate profiles and make sure the category you use is properly sub-categorized.
