How do I see a person's tree? I am on the trusted list but can't access tree. I don't understand wikitree

Probably the first thing to catch is that there is only one tree that we all work on together...no individual trees. Just one profile for each person who has lived.

WikiTree is a very powerful genealogy site with many features, but don't let that overwhelm you. Many are features you will like in the future but do not need at first.

The thing about the Trusted List that many people misunderstand, it that it only applies to one profile at a time. In other words, for any profile with restricted privacy settings, you would have to be on that profile's Trusted list to see it.

To be on the Trusted List of the Profile Manager would only let you see their profile, not any profiles they manage.

If the profiles have an Open privacy setting, then there's no reason you should not be able to see those profiles.

Yes, that is an annoying things about the trusted list. I have asked to be on a trusted list for a specific person with the intention of adding the  grandparents. Then I discover that I have to go back and ask to be on the trusted list for each of that persons parents, before I can start adding the grandparents to the tree. This is only for those profiles that do NOT have the OPEN (White icon at top right) status.

And if the profile manager does not respond, to your request, that makes things even more difficult, because then you have to wait for a month (30 days)  before you can do anything further on that profile.

It takes a bit of time to understand how the system works. I joined in December 2016, so I have been here for less than 6 months, but I already know my way around, have added over 500 names and am enjoying myself immensely.
