I did not see any indication that he served in the American Revolution at familysearch.org . If he was born in 1715, he would have been abouit 61 yrs old when the declaration of independence was signed.

No mention here of Rev War service: http://archive.org/stream/bairdbeardfamili1918catc#page/172/mode/2up

Also the reference cited above has a large number of discrepancies, for example Bedent, Obediah, and Barzilla are all nephews of the Zebulon Baird that died in 1804.

Given the dates, I would suspect Zebulon was more likely active in the French and Indian War (1754-1763)

Different birth date date, but I think this is your Zeb: http://services.dar.org/public/dar_research/search_adb/?action=full&p_id=A004842

There are 44 Bairds in the DAR database.  You can search for them from their public search engine:  http://services.dar.org/public/dar_research/search/

One can be a DAR ancestor by donating a firearm, or other patriotic service, as was my 5th-great-grandfather...while his son fought.

There are three Zebulon Bairds in the DAR Ancestor Database at this search link: http://services.dar.org/Public/DAR_Research/search_adb/default.cfm

Simply click the Ancestor tab at top of screen, and enter last name, then first namr. Hit Search. You'lll see all three records.

Pensions were not available until about 1832 (except half pay for disabiliry), so if  on fold3.com..
