Is Elizabeth Slaughter b. 1700s really in my tree?

I show Elizabeth Slaughter--b. abt 1764; d 6 Oct 1843--in my Gm Edna Owen line tracing from Edna through Maggie Dixon and Judith Covington to Judy C's mother Marget Weeks to her father Steven Weeks b 1763. But the line got altogether difficult after Judith Covington (who m. Shadrach Tootle Dixon) because the Weeks lines aren't well recorded (in what I could find). The Slaughters and the Covingtons are fairly famous Southern US families. I'd be glad to have them, but in my first years at this ancestry.com was not all that helpful. I've never returned to this un-giving line.

No Relationship Found

We could not find a blood relationship between Elizabeth (Slaughter) Candler and Roberta (Berg) Burnett.

We couldn't find a common ancestor, however:

  1. They could be related by marriage or adoption, but not blood. If it's a relationship by marriage within 10 steps the Connection Finder may find it.
  2. They could have a common ancestor deeper than the 30 generations that were searched.

Frank Gill, thanks for your notes above. By them, I could have told you that myself (and in fact did, in a way). Elizabeth slaughter did in fact marry in, but it is Steven Weeks' line to my gm Edna Owen is the genetic line, if there is one. So to be valid, My question should have read. "Are Marget Weeks and her father Steven really in my genetic line?" Histories can be wrong, and Shadrach Dixon's lines veered north very quickly into a solid line of Dixon men. It was his second wife Judy Covington (whose photo showed her as a tired and a good heart) who leads to the Weeks.

Shall I try to discern where the strongest assurance through historical documents whether that line is valid or can you do it in a matter of minutes and a great hunk of kindness? I will eventually learn what you have taught.  (Though I raised the question, my pointed focus is to find my paternal and unknown GF.)
