I'm looking for a Rufus Crigger that married Lydia Ann Marston in about 1861 in CA.

I am looking for a Rufus Crigger (maybe first name is wrong) who married Lydia Ann Marston in about 1861 in Sacramento, California. They had one daughter, Mary Ann Crigger born in 1862 in Salinas, California. Rufus and Lydia were not married for too long, from what I can tell, but I don't know why. Maybe he died, maybe divorce??  In 1868, Lydia married David Shultes, moved to Arizona and had three more kids. David died of typhoid, then Lydia married James DUnning Tewksbury in 1879 and had two more boys. She lived out her life in AZ. She died in 1913.

Lydia Marston was born In England in 1848 and sailed with her family to America in 1850.

Please help if you have information. I am writing a book on Lydia's family and I really need information on her first husband.

I am also interested in this family. I have little information other than what has been reported in the books about the Graham-Tewksbury fued. The reference to a California marriage between Rufus Criger and Lydia Ann Mar(s)ton (lets not get hung up on spelling here as this is just an index) is interesting.

 

I've just had the opportunity to see a copy of the original entry. A marriage license was issued in Sacramento California to Rufus Criger and Lydia A. Marston on the 5 July 1865. John Marston is a witness to the fact they are of legal age. The marriage took place on 5 July 1865 by W.H.Hill Clergyman. The certificate was recorded on 10 July 1865.
