My grandfather's ancestry traces back to a Francis Hayes born 1851in Ireland. He died in 1897 in Cardiff. He had a brother called William. Unfortunately I have no research into what part of Ireland he came from but I have lots of descendents from him in Cardiff. He was a seaman. Would be interesting to see if there is a connection.

I can see it was in 2012 you posted this, hope you are still on here.

Do you have any first names for the Hayes family members? Is there an estimate of approximately what year they made the transition from Cork to Cardiff? Any birth or marriage or death dates of specific individuals could be helpful.

Thanks.

I'm looking for a Colonel Richard Hayes who was married to Mary ? and had a daugher named Mary Elizabeth who was born in 1750 in Gloucester, VA.

An Ancestral File has a Richard Colonel Hayes born 1715 married to Mary Buckner. Colonel Hayes was born in Amelia, VA, wife b. Gloucester, VA

They had a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Hayes born 25 Aug 1750 who married William Plummer. This couple had a son named William Plummer.

Familysearch states the following:  Ancestral File is a collection of genealogical information taken from pedigree charts and family group records s ubmitted to the Family History Department since 1978. The information has not been verified against any official records. Since the information in Ancestral File is contributed, it is the responsibility of those who use the file to verify its accuracy.

Thanks!
