How does one check over 4,000 matches that so often conflict with information already vetted?

Goodness! Can you explain what you are dealing with?
Why am I doing this, it has turned into torture. Again, I got my sites confused.....the 5,688 matches for 335 people are on My Heritage, and I have tried to use info on Wikitree to help make the information a little less confusing. For example:

Richard Kennon,Sr. 56 matches (Kennon-17)

William Tilton 103 matches (Tilton-67)

Margaret Scott  84 matches

Robert T. Paddock 106 matches (Paddock-141)

Margaret Watts Moulton 63 Matches (Watts-1172) in the matches I checked her birth year ranged from 1475-1515.

And on and on.....

I do think that I should have tried to follow one line instead of mom and dad.
I suggest that you stop paying attention to MyHeritage smart matches.

OK, look at them if you like, then use the information as clues for your own research, but don't confirm them or add them to your tree as sources, and definitely don't fret if the information in a smart match looks like nonsense (it probably is).

Kennon-17 and Kennon-56 appear to be entirely different people.

Tilton-103 and Tilton-67 are three centuries apart.

I guess I was very unclear in my question......the profile number is the Wikitree in ( ), the other number is the total matches in My Heritage. Thank you for your comment and I am truly sorry.
Bless you, I needed permission to ignore the matches and will take your excellent advise. I felt like I was drowning in flotsom!
