For those who do not know how to translate the page from German to English: once the page opens in German, right-click anywhere on the page, and then click on "Translate to English."

That's a great question! Unfortunately, I know nothing about Apple products. Perhaps, another member can answer that for us.

I believe on a Mac you ctrl click.  I'm not 100% sure

Yes, Ctrl Click or two fingers on the pad.  But when I open in Google, Google recognized it is in German and asks if you want to translate to English.  

Also, read the messages below where an English version has been provided.

There is an English version of genwiki though not as much content as the German version

There are several databases

• city directories
• Family records & obituaries from Newspapers
• GedBas - online family tree
• GOV - places directory (esp. great for places in former German territory)
• local heritage books (basically digitized parish records)
• grave stones (data + photos of todays grave yards)
• German casuality list WWI (even if you have access to the one in Ancestry check this one) (search mask)

Meta search combines these and some more.

Oh yes, thank you.  Love these links.  Looked up things that years ago, I had to have someone over there look up for me and translate then mail it to me.  Did not know these were online or that you could get translation, wow!  Thank you.
