I need help with my GGGrandfather Jacob Orin Brown 24 june 1821 - 14 feb 1895 from Hessen, Germany (I have also seen Hessen-Kassel and Hern-Cassel.), died in Marquette, MI.  He married Mary or Maria Kline 1829 - 1888. Jacob is buried in Park Cemetery in Marquette, mi.

              Gys, some of the best and most thorough information I've rec'd was from an archivist in Karlsruhe, Germany. seek the government offices for records in the appropriate Stadt office in Germany, some stated above. If you pay their fees they can give you what you're looking for. The woman who worked with me wrote in English, and was very accommodating.
