Wasn't David Dixon Burns the adopted son of Anthony Byrn who died 1853 in Grimes Co. Texas?

anthony byrn (my fourth great grandfather) married nancy crumpston in mississippi. it was his third marriage. family lore has it that he wasn't the biological father of david  but the adoptive father after anthony married david's mother. i am looking for proof of this.

From what I have seen and heard, no. However, the only solid record I have of Anthony besides the census of 1850, is the Grimes County slave schedule of 1850.
