What are the exact meanings behind the G2G Titles?

Is there an article about the G2G titles given to people?  It appears to be related to points which appear to be based on participation in G2G, BUT I can't find any thing that explains it.  I am honestly not fussed about what title or points I may or may not have; but I just like to understand things!

What if both answers to this question deserve a star for responding?  They're both great answers.

This is a tough call for me because I would like to receive the star rating, however, I have to be objective in all my views. Therefore, I will be placing the star in the hands of Chris. I have done this for the reason:

Although there was a mentioning of titles, "Is there an article about the G2G titles given to people?"  The main question seemed to be related to understanding how the points were related to the titles, i.e, "It appears to be related to points which appear to be based on participation in G2G, BUT I can't find anything that explains it."

With this in mind, I believe that Chris added more insight into how the titles were related to the point system.

By continuing to have this objective view, we allow ourselves to be held to a higher standard in answering the questions on G2G which will provide a greater impact in our mission.

Thank you to all who voted. Even though this was a minial question, we cannot hold ourselves to a different standard in the given answer.

Thank you for the information.  I think that they were both the best answers, too!enlightened

Here is how G2G points are earned:

G2G Points and Titles

Contributions in our Genealogist-to-Genealogist (G2G) Q&A Forum are tracked separately from other WikiTree contributions.

Participation in G2G earns points. All these actions are counted:

Asking a question.
Posting an answer.
Voting up or down a question.
Voting up or down an answer.
Having your question voted up or down.
Having your answer voted up or down.
Having your answer selected as the best.
Selecting an answer to your question as the best.

The number of points in G2G earns you a title. You start as a G2G Rookie. At 300 points you're G2G Crew. From there, the sky is the limit.

I believe you are right; the titles are related to the points earned for participation. By looking at the different ranks of the contributers I have described the rank system below:

  1. G2G Rookie (0-499)
  2. G2G Crew (500-999)
  3. G2G1 (1k-1,999)
  4. G2G2 (2k - 2,999)
  5. G2G3 (3k - 3,999)
  6. G2G4 (4k - 4,999)
  7. G2G5 (5k - 5,999)
  8. G2G6 (6k - 9,999)
  9. G2G6 Mach 1 (10k - 19,999)
  10. G2G6 Mach 2 (20k - 29,999)
  11. G2G6 Mach 3 (30k - 39,999)
  12. G2G6 Mach 4 (40k - 49,999)
  13. G2G6 Mach 5 (50k - 59,999)
  14. G2G6 Mach 6 (60k - 99,999)

 Thank you, Matthew!  cool

Oh dear , I learned something new here . You can not have two best answers on a G2G post ~~ so in my mind, both Matthew & Chris had the best answers ............sorry if I messed up the STAR  rating . Happy Labour Day Monday everyone..
