Free Space Project for the Popes

Hi all I've noticed the profiles for the Popes are in need of some love. I've put together a free-space project page for them. Anyone who wants to jump onboard is welcome. I have a large to-do list/table on the page of things I thought should be done, feel free to volunteer other ideas.

I see others have already posted sources. You may want to add a "Sources" section in your free-space page, that includes these sources.

I just updated the Free-Space page for 10 Volume set of "The Lives and Times of the Popes".

I would love to helpw with this project.  I have been working toward pre1500 certification so that I can work on some saints.

You can get onto the Popes in the Year email list and get info on each one.  I like the they talk about what they did in their papacy, sometimes who their relatives where, and what other stuff was going on in history.  See if you can contact mail@flocknote.com to get on board.           Popes in a Year <mail@flocknote.com>

Greg, there are biographies on the popes on the official Vatican website.  See http://m.vatican.va/content/francescomobile/en/biography/documents/papa-francesco-biografia-bergoglio.html

See also: http://w2.vatican.va/content/vatican/en.html which links to the other popes.

A link to each pope's webpage would be a nice inclusion, not just adding it to sources. E.g official Vatican website for Pope xxxx.    No need to reinvent the wheel here.

Let me know if I can help with this.  I'd be happy to put the link to the Vatican website for each pope if that helps.

Hi Greg,

Is there a project badge for this Pope's project?  I'm wanting to get pre-1500 badge and am not sure if this is one of the recognised projects that I can use for showing my project participation.

No, it is a free space project. The entire effort should fall under the notables project though, they have a badge and should, I assume, count towards pre-1500.
I was thinking something similar and would be happy to add this link to the project as a recognized extension of Notables. I'll update the project page.

Thanks for putting this together!!

Has this project developed? If so I would like to volunteer especially if it would count toward pre1500 qualification. One concern I have is that the term 'Pope' be in any field other than where it would be confused with Surnames..I have a family group from 1800s thru 1900s with Surname 'Pope' for both male & female [so has nothing to do with a Pope].
