I have a tree which has links to Edgefield South Carolina.  The Corley's I am linked to are White.  I have found an African America Corley's as well have met some.  I think there may be a slavery link

I have Clement Corley born 1810 and died in 1863, Adkin Corley born 1780 died in 1863, another Adkin born 21 Nov or Dec 1803.  Located grave information from  the Catlett Corley cemetary Saluda County South Carolina.    The Corley's in my family moved from Arkansas/Alabama/Oklahoma to California.  Thank you for any help you can provide

What specifically are you seeking help with?

Are Clement Corley born 1810 related to Adkin Corley born in 1803.  I am tyrin go find the link between Corley's born in Tuscaloosa County Alabama

I know it is over a year later, but this is the 1st I came across the question of the Corley family of SC having an African-American link. Would want to communicate with you back and forth on this if you are still interested. I have been researching the AAfrican-American Corley linke of Batesburg, Lexington County, South Carolina for some time now which is the line of my maternal grandmother born 12 years after Emancipation.
I also think I have an African-American link in Mississippi.  I am an ancestor of Baleem Corley.  Have you found any information.  My link is closer.

Clement Corley was born in Edgefield Co.,SC, but he moved to the area of Tuscaloosa

County and Walker Co., AL. There, he married Caroline Rayburn, and his sister married Wiley Rayburn, son of John B Rayburn.

Maybe this will help you.

Sincerely,

Calvin Little

Don't know if there is any african-american connections.  Many of the trees on Ancestry.com have families who lived in Alabama, Arkansas and Oklahoma.  The census information also has some who were probably slaves.

Yes there are African-American family connections to Corley in Batesburg, Lexington County, SC! I have done extensive research on the African-American Corley's as far as I could go. I have been seeking white and/or African-American descendants of the African-American Corley's of Lexington County for some time. Would love to exchange information with those who are interested. I even have a facebook page called the Wilson-Corley African-American Genealogy Group for those who are interested in reseaching the surnames of Wilson, Corley and even Morris of Lexington County, South Carolina.

Baleem Corley of Mississippi was one of my ancestors.  I cannot find any information on him before Mississippi.  I don't know if he went by another name or where he came from.  I did a DNA test and I have some African American blood.  I think that is where it came from.  Do you or have any of you done any research on him.
