Morris Klingelschmitt was married to Catherine Hell

Hello!!!!  I am hoping someone with access to records from Alsace-Lorraine can help me.  My 2nd great maternal grandmother was Monika Kuntz (nee Klingelschmitt).  Her death certificate from Illinois states that her parents were Morris Klingelschmitt and Catherine Hell.  Monika was born in Alsace-Lorraine on 13 Oct 1869 and died on 03 Feb 1950 in Essex, IL.  She married Joseph Kuntz, who was born 15 Apr 1843 in Alsace Lorraine and died 18 Apr 1927 in Essex, IL.  Trying to find info on Morris and Catherine Klingelschmitt.  Thank you!!!!

I see nothing on their origins (except Germany).  But Monika's marriage record and her siblings records list Morant/Moran as their fathers name instead of Morris.  Parents born in Germany.  Also this FAG memorial for him and Catherine: https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=6451888&ref=acom

I noticed that "seiner Frau" on the grave means "his wife".  I also noticed her name was spelled "Katherine" instead of "Catherine" that was on daughter Monika's death certificate.  But, I will look into this!!!  Thank you, Mary!!!!

I'd pay no attention to the way her name is spelled.  That is just how the person filling out the form spells it.

SOLVED!!!!!!  Through correspondence with a Klingelschmitt who was a 3rd cousin autosomal DNA match on FTDNA (Family Finder test), I was put in contact with her cousin (also a Klingelschmitt).  We discovered that Monika Klingelschmitt's parents (Morand and Catherine) had 9 children.  One of them was Leon (Leo), who is on the tombstone of Morand and Catherine.

You do not give specific town names which complicates the search. Alsace-Lorraine was either French or German, depending on when you are looking at it. From the dates you provide I would suggest looking at the French departmental archives for the several French departments that make up this region. For many of the departments both the civil registers and parish registers are online, although I did not look up those for this region.

Not really sure where, George.  I looked on the French genealogy site "Geneanet.com" and I believe I have found the family featured on the "Find A Grave" memorial that Mary pointed out above.  But, my aunt does not remember a Leo Klingelschmitt.  But, I am looking into it!!
