Am curious if more is known about  this Mary Ogden's and who her family (descendants) may have been. Since I see the reference to Lancashire , England, etc., does she have a birth certificate?
Thanks,
Mary Ogden Armstrong

I think it most likely Mary was the daughter of John Ogden & Mary,  born 3 October 1800 & Christened 15 October 1800, Oldham, Wesleyan Methodist, Lancashire. ( England & Wales Non-Conformist Births And Baptisms).

          Hi Mary,

As the person who uploaded her to WikiTree:

I suggest that you check out the FamilySearch link as well, at least for more on the descendants, who are my interest.

I didn't manage to find her after the 1850 Virginia census and haven't verified the 1860 census for the family as yet.

I suspect, but have not proven that hubby John Fairburn/Fairbairn, millwright of Oldham MAY be the John of Oldham imprisoned in the 1840s for having bigamously married in Prestwich-cum-Oldham a woman reported in the newspaper as Mary Oldham - which MAY be a mistake in the newspaper report.Certainly he and Mary married at Prestwich cum Oldham. But it does seem a tad longer than expected after 1829 marriage for bigamy to be caught out and prosecuted  and John's age is given as 40 in the report when he'd be at least 5 yrs older.

They emigrated around Jul 1850 according to son Elijah's naturalisation

John/Mary OGDEN is the only immediately obvious marriage that fits.

My interest here is the Fairbairn/Fairburn side as my quest is finding John's parents and DNA tested descendants :)

Thanks to all who give answers and comments. So much can be learned by searches, and those who respond. Many thanks! This one was quite interesting as well.
My paternal grandmother was Jessie Marie Fairburn. Her father was a tenant farmer in Ohio, Indiana Oklahoma and Florida. I would have to look up any further information. In the mean time hello and good luck on your search.
