I have asked many people (with more experience than me) on numerous occasions if anyone could help guide me in the right direction as I am stuck at my 2nd great grandfather Willem Hermanus van Staden (abt 1856). No one on here is interested in helping, so do anyone know of a professional I can hire?

You haven't put a birth place for your grandfather or great-grandfather.  It would seem best to try to finish those profiles before moving back in time.
Hi Phillippus, nice to meet you.

Those spots in our genealogy where we get stuck certainly can be the most frustrating.  It's true that many people are caught up enough with their own family mysteries that they don't always have extra time to help solve those others have.  However, there are also many, many members here who do help and are willing to try and help you :)

It looked like this might be the first time you've posted here in G2G...that's a great step towards finding new information.

I'll add some tags to help this be seen by more of the right people.

We'll also see what else we can do....

Onward and upward!
You might be able to hire Vincent

Thank you Keith,

I did find a lot of records of him on familysearch , my interest is in WH van Staden's mother and father. If I have to go on the normal naming pattern, his dad should have been Hendrik Petrus van Staden and Christina Wilhelmina van Staden. I do find these two individuals respectively born 1829 and 1830. But no link to WH as their son

Hi Phillippus,

Try this link, it brings you to a WikiTree project page about South African Roots. The members of this group and its sub groups collaborate on South African genealogy.  The page will have contact information, resources, and more.

Every little angle, right?

Still trying :)

There seems to be records on familysearch.org for a Willem Hermanus van Staden married to an Elizabeth Swarts who had children in Dutch South Africa and the Orange Free State.  There are other van Staden's there as well.  I presumed they lived and died there, but no mention of his birth or his birth place.  Check it out and let me know if this is your Willem van Staden.
