Why don't the photos on my profile show when Terry Wright tries to access?

Yesterday I received a message from Terry saying that even though the privacy level is Private with Public Biography and Family Tree, she just gets blank spaces where the photos should be.When I click on Profile (public view), the photos show. Is this normal?

From https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Photo_Privacy: If the only profiles identified in a photo are private (which includes the Privacy Levels Unlisted, Private, Private with Public Biography, and Private with Public Biography and Family Tree) the image is private.

Ok, Chris. I did finally find the faq help section that's on the page of each individual photo and that explained. I don't put photos on that I care if people see; so I linked the photos to the personal free space page that Terry suggested I make. Hopefully, people can go in that easily and see if they desire. It's at the bottom of the page. Would someone try it and see if it works for you?  Thank you everyone.

I only see blank spaces (with visible photo captions), too. I thought I would post just so you'll know that it's happening with more than one person viewing the profile.

each image has a privacy protection level.  you need to go to them and open them to uplica

Keith, in the "Help: Photo Privacy" section it says: "You cannot customize the privacy level of a photo. Access to images is dependent on the Privacy Level of the profiles on which they appear."  Well I guess that sort of answers the question. I did put a link to a free space for photos that Terry was teaching me to do at the bottom of the page so that if people were interested they could see the photos. I guess that's the best I can do. Oh, and they are in-line and specifically placed photos inside the biography.

if you go to my page, do you see an image of military ribbons?

i loaded that image to military_medals and it shows public

if you loaded images to your own profile,  maybe that is what is making them private.

Wow. Now the funny thing is that Roy is dead and open. Michael is living and of course not. It must have to do with the fact that the photo was originally uploaded to Roy.  Neat, now at least I understand how to get around it sometimes. So it seems that what Chris said isn't entirely correct?

that is what i mean, rack of ribbons, not each individual one.

both of our profiles are yellow, so maybe where the image is loaded has something to do with it.

Well, maybe I need to know how to add the photos to something other than a profile first. I don't. Even my airplane free space has the photos added to a person first. Is that wrong? Is there a better way?

Here is 3 things I would try

1. Can anyone see photos.

Anyone can see the tiny thumbnail version of photos. This includes the thumbnails that appear in activity feeds.

If a profile is private only those on the Trusted List can see the full-size versions and the photo details. However, if anyone in the photo is public the photo will be public.

2. Are these pictures in your profile Biography? (Thanks Doug Lockwood)
