Hello Charles,

I'm surprised!  We are 6th cousins 6th times removed.  Here's part of the line:

8. John is the son of John Payne [unknown confidence]
9. John is the son of Joseph Payne [unknown confidence]
10. Joseph is the son of John Payne [unknown confidence]
11. John is the son of Hannah (Bass) Wilbore [unknown confidence]
12. Hannah is the daughter of Samuel (Basse) Bass [unknown confidence]
13. Samuel is the son of Humphrey Basse [unknown confidence]

FYI, the Paynes were in New England and participated in the Revolutionary War.  Regards, Janine

Charles, I've learned so much through WikiTree that I hope I can give back and/or share from time to time.

Here's to Wiki collaboration!
Deacon Samuel Basse is contested to be a son of Humphrey.

There's an Edward Pinkney Bass born 1862, died 1934 that shows no profile manager. Bass-2976

His wife, Harriet Ellen Traywick is that daughter of Alexander Pinkney Traywick.

I'm a desc.  of Humphery Basse through his son Nathaniel  . I've seen the name Pinkney (Pinckney) through out my family tree. My line left Sampson C0., NC in the early 1800's and moved to Ga.  My 3rd and 4th great grand parents are buried in Randolph Co. Ga.  I'm also researching the Bass family in Ala.
