Every week you can find two new connections in our Connection Finder.

Each Tuesday, we showcase a WikiTreer in a Meet our Members feature on our blog and they also get to be spotlighted in the Connection Finder for that week.

This week it's Mel Lambert. Mel became a WikiTreer in November 2015 and is one of our newest Leaders. She is active in our Military and WarMentor and DNA projects and also participates in the Sourcerers challenges. You can learn more about her here and check the Finder to see how you are connected!

We also highlight an Example Profile of the Week.  These profiles are top-notch and meet the styles and standards criteria that the community has agreed upon. The notable whose profile is used as an example is also featured in the Connection Finder for that week.

Spotlight this week is the "Greatest of all Leathernecks," 13th Commandant of the US Marine Corps, Lt. Gen. John A. Lejeune from The Great War 1914-1918 ProjectSee how you are connected!

And of course you can always see your connection to Queen Elizabeth II and Kevin Bacon.

Actually since the General comes from Louisiana, he is of Cajun ancestry which means he is of Acadian ancestry. I have just 15 degrees of connection to John Lejeune - and that is only because I am married to an Acadian. Naturally my husband has 14 degrees of connection.

I also think anyone of Acadian ancestry will be somewhat closely connected to the General. People like Celine Dion and Madonna who both also have Acadian ancestry.

Interesting coincidence. My connection paths to both of this week's special connection targets (19 steps to LeJeune and 20 steps to Mel) go through my same 3G grandmother. (This is unusual. I'm accustomed to my connection paths going off in diverse directions from my profile.)
