Does anyone here have access to "Early Wills, 1765-1799, Mecklenburg County, Virginia" by Katherine B. Elliott?  I'm looking for the will of Thomas Moore-25923 which is supposed to be in Will Book 3, p. 272, written 31 Mar 1793, proved 13 Jul 1795.

According to Alvan Holmes' "Some Farrar's Island Descendants", p. 143, the children listed are:

  1. Thomas
  2. Seth
  3. "Tephana" Hudson
  4. Elizabeth
  5. George
  6. Field
  7. Judith
  8. Nancy Crowder
  9. Mary Franklin
  10. Lucy Willis
  • Children:  Thomas Moore, Seth Moore, Taffanus Hudson, Elizabeth Davis, Prescilla Nunn
  • Refers to six younger children:  George Moore, Feild Moore, Judith Boyd, Nancy Crowder, Mary Franklin, Lucy Willis
The difference here is that there is no Prescilla/Priscilla in the Elliott quote, and a couple more girls are married in Ancestry.  I really need to know about my ancestor Priscilla Moore-1586 Nunn.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here's a transcription (found on ancestry) of the will:

NOTE: every published transcription or abstract of THOMAS MOORE’s will that I’ve ever seen have transcribed the married name of his daughter Elizabeth as “DAVIS”.  That is incorrect!  As it is written in Mecklenburg County, VA, Will Bk. 3, p. 272 it is plainly “DAWS”.  I’m forever indebted to Gerald Dawes, a descendant of Lt. THOMAS MOORE’s thru his grandson THOMAS DAWS (ca1789-ca1865), for kindly taking the time and going thru the trouble of not only correcting me on this matter but for proving it as well.  [RT]
