? DO you have a profile to share, so we may see how it 'behaves' ? as when the 'blue 'radio' button is activated, the only way to change it is to choose another in the range - - (ie. is uncertain !) -

You can see that my DNA info shows up on her adoptive father but it doesn't show up on her profile.

I haven't used the "non-biological" status as I had the names of the birth parents of the adopted children in my genealogy.  I believed I referenced the adoptive parents in their  biographies, however.
