Who can merge the two John Rhodes, of which one is a PPP?

John Rhodes seems to be the son of Sir Francis Rhodes and Elizabeth Lascelles, but  different sources have different birth dates and different birth places but John's father Francis was born in Derbyshire..  John's wife was Elizabeth Jason and they had a son Charles who settled in Virginia.  One John Rhodes profile is Rhodes-5357 and the other is Rhodes-2091.  The latter is a protected profile.  The latter's first wife was Elizabeth Jessop.  If these are not two different John Rhodes,then the profiles need to merged' for one John Rhodes could have married Elizabeth Jessop and the other, Elizabeth Jason.  I suspect they are the same and the birth date of one of the two John Rhodes needs to be adjusted.  I doubt that Elizabeth Jessop Rhodes was seven when she was married and that she had a child at the age of ten.  If she were 14 when Francis was born, she would have been born in 1634 and married at age eleven..

Christening records list his baptism in 1624, so I don't know how good the birth year of 1614 is and whether or not Staffordshire was his birthplace.

I added dates and sources to the pre-existing Rhodes-2019 (originally created via import of tgreeneftdna1.ged on Jun 29, 2014.). Its Project Protected status was part of its pre-existing status. At that time there was not profile manager so I took it on. To-date I do not have any parent info on Rhodes-2019. The reference to his marriage to Elizabeth Jessop (Jessop-10) came from the The National Cyclopaedia source. I agree on the discrepancy regarding Elizabeth Jessop's birth date, but I have no info on her other than her name and marriage. If she should be removed as spouse until this issue is resolved that would be fine by me.

Technical issue or question: For some reason the source info for Rhodes-2019 is not appearing in the public profile. Its privacy is open so this should info should be accessible, is there a formatting change that would allow this to be visible?

There are three John Rodes/Rhodes born in Derbyshire in Wikitree. Rodes-12 was born in 1562, at least two generations early. The other two, Rhodes-2091 and -725 are father and son, born 1630 and 1664 respectivley.

I don't see any merge possibilities.

The John Rhodes I'm investigating is Rhodes-5357 whom the Rhodes family says was married to Elizabeth Jason and the father of Charles Rhodes.

I don't know where they got Staffordshire as his birthplace as his father was Francis Rhodes from Derbyshire.  Things aren't always as correct as they seem to be.  (I'm sorry about my original typo.)  Rhodes-2091 doesn't list his father.

Even though Frances Rhodes was born in Derbyshire and he had a John Rhodes [Rhodes-5357] as a son,  the John Rhodes born in Derbyshire [Rhodes-2091] is probably not his son.

Likewise, there is no record of an Elizabeth "Jason" being the wife of John Rhodes born in Ripley.  I don't believe [Rhodes-2091] was a bigamist havingt two children born in 1662 to two different women.  Elizabeth Jessop didn't die until 1696, so John of Derbyshire had no reason to take a 2nd wife in 1660.  I removed the incorrect wife, Elizabeth Jason.  She is married to the other John Rhodes.

I was just working on this line.  From my tree working up I have John Rhodes and Elizabeth Jessup.

On Family Search they have John Rhodes father as being Francis Rhodes married to Elizabeth Lascelles.

and actually it does look like the dates may be off a bit.  That the two Jonn Rhodes may be different men.  

Obviously some further research is required at this point!

Well I made it to this part of my family tree again and was re looking at things.

So what we have is a John (Rhodes) Rodes I (1630 - abt. 1701)  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Rhodes-2091 who is married to an Elizabeth Jessop https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Jessop-10.  

Going to Family Search in my tree gets us to John Rhodes, 1639 – 27 August 1701.  https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/L693-K47.

Though on Family Search there is also a brother listed as John Rhodes Sr, 1629 – 8 December 1678 https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/LR7D-V9Z.  

This John Rhodes Sr was married to Elizabeth Bloomires and had a child named Charles Rhodes b. 1650.

Then going back to WikiTree and looking at this other John Rhodes (1624) https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Rhodes-5357 profile it has the same father listed as both of the John Rhodes at Family Search, Francis Rhodes and Elizabeth Lascelles.  It also has him married to an Elizabeth Janeson and having a son named Charles.  Which fits with the "John Rhodes Sr." profile on Family Search.

Then on Geni it has this listing Sir John Rodes, of Sturton, March 22, 1627 Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England, United Kingdom, Death: August 27, 1701 (74) Upper Darby, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States.  https://www.geni.com/people/Sir-John-Rodes-of-Sturton/3839772

So it goes back to the question, who are the parents of our John (Rhodes) Rodes I (1630 - abt. 1701)?  Is it Francis Rhodes and Elizabeth Lascelles?  It looks like they did have a son named John Rhodes but it may be a different person then our John Rhodes.
