NSDAR Lineage Book

I looked back at earlier discussions, but did not find exactly what I was seeking.

I am trying to connect a family that has been floating in my ʻunconnectedʻ pool for a while. I found one woman (Cory-604) in an NSDAR Lineage book and can (using that source) connect her to an existing profile if I go about 4 generations back. I know I need more information than is in the book.

I assume I can use the Lineage Book as a cited source, right?

Is the NSDAR Lineage strong enough to build that trail?  I have to believe it would be acceptable since the organization has such a good reputation.

(FYI, the Lineage book lists Alma Cory as descending from 4 soldiers, I just haven't found the other 3 on Wikitree...yet)

Immediately after posting my question I searched for Rebecca Andrews, listed in the NSDAR book as the wife of Thomas Bushnell.  There she was (but not connected to Thomas), waiting to be adopted, I looked at her sources (need work) and adopted her. While looking at her profile I notice MY name on the right side.........my DNA shows up there.

So, I adopted my 5th Great Aunt because I was trying to connect a family I did not think was related to me.

WikiTree is really amazing.
Now that is a 'Big Smile' moment!

Caution Flag: keep in mind that the DAR doesn't accept their own lineage books as sources anymore since the adoption of the Genealogical Proof Standard. Use as a guide, not as a source.

I'm glad to hear that as a guide, it worked out for you!
