What is involved in starting a project?

I am relatively new to WikiTree.  I might wish to start a project on the Jordan family that originated in southwest England (Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire) and came to colonial Virginia in the 1600s.  I need to know what is involved in starting a family project.

Hi Sandy,

Great question! Here is a list of all the Projects currently on wikitree: (See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Projects)

A project is a group of members organized around a topic or volunteer activity. There are "top-level" projects like the ones you see below, sub-projects, and easy-to-start free-space projects. See the Project FAQ for more information.

If you don't see a project above that fits your ancestors or interests, maybe you should lead the way and create one!

First see the list of pending projects below, and Starting a New Project.

Thanks for choosing wikitree!
