What do these tag numbers mean please? CENTANNI (529/423 CENTANNIs)

Please explain numbers after surnames in surname alphabetical list.

It means that 529 Centanni profiles were created, but only 423 remain (probably because of merges, etc.)

Each profile on Wikitree is identified by a combination of surname at birth and a number. Each time a new profile is added for that surname the next number in sequence is allocated.

Should be the number of Centanni in the database. But I would have thought that the two numbers would have been the same for one surname. But in looking the difference is probably about how many have been merged away. ie. 529 created. 423 now existing in the database
