I am looking for information on Nathaniel J Dotson from Gilmer Georgia 1800s,  my husband's great great great grandfather is his son George Washington Dotson. Any help would be amazing as we are stuck, ty in advance.

Gilmer Georgia was in Cherokee territory. After the removal of the Cherokees in the 1830s the area soon filled up with white settlers, many from North Carolina. You might try looking there for your Dotson ancestors.
