I received an email from Ancestry.com with my DNA results, how do I import it please.

Question

This is probably going to sound not quite bright, but I am not very good with computers, so I have no idea how to create the Gedcom file that is required from the email I received from Ancestry.com.
Thank you in advance.
I have managed to download it from Ancestry.com, but it automatically saves as Zip file which I wasn't given an option to change to a .ged file.

your DNA results (usually compressed in a zip file), are not the same thing as a gedcom. These results you usually want to upload into another website, such as gedmatch.com, where they have tools to use for comparison with other people's DNA data that might match yours.

A gedcom is a transfer file format that represents your family tree (parents, grandparents, etc.). It can be exported from one Genealogy application, and imported into another.

WikiTree doesn't actually upload your DNA results. Instead, you merely indicate that you have done a test, and provide your kit number(s) (so that other possible cousins can compare their DNA with yours)

What are you trying to do?  Are you trying to transfer your DNA raw data to Gedmatch or are you actually trying to create a GEDCOM of your relatives?  Since you mention DNA I think you probably mean the first.  In which case you want to save the zip file on your computer and then go to GedMatch and follow their directions on how to upload it there.  They will then give you a name for your data which you can copy to WikiTree to allow others to compare their DNA to yours on GedMatch.  Or you can compare the number of other's DNA results on GEDmatch of your number.  Recently GEDmatch started marking kits which are those of WikiTree members with "Wiki" so members know which people to look for here. No Guarantee that there will be a way to figure out how you match, but if someone shows up there on a one to many match, you can be sure they match with you, so you can try to find them here on the big tree.

I uploaded my zip file of DNA from Ancestry to Gedmatch a week ago and I thought they were going to contact me.  I thought the DNA would be downloaded to Wikitree as it was to Ancestry my mistake.

My kit number is A563101.

I have found exciting relatives on Ancestry many of them are on Ancestry a few first cousins!  On ancestry as they determine the matches you start receiving all these wonderful gifts of photos and information.
