How do I share general family tree info?

If I have a document, or a picture which applies in a more general way, How do I share it to the larger community?  For example, I have a 10 page word doc written in the early 1940's, "The Story Of The Pioneer William R. Wilson Family, Who Came To Hamilton County In 1866, By A Daughter, Mrs. Oscar K. Dick, Iowa Falls, Iowa." Wouldn't the broader Wilson family be interested?  Also, what about coats of arms? ( I have a few JPG's) Is this not the place to share such memorabilia?

You could create free space pages. Then you could link to the pages on your profiles so other researchers could share your documents. You could either scan them and upload as photos or transcribe or both.

Just a note:  If I were creating a freespace for a coat of arms, I would include a description, explaining all the parts, their significance and symbolism, and anything else about the coat of arms. Perhaps there is a specific history, such as an event associated with it.

I'd think that a free-space page with the text of your 10 page document would be appropriate.  You could then link it to any profile for this family and post a message here with the link.  Put any appropriate tags in the "question" and that way anyone looking for questions about Wilsons will be able to find it later. BTW, if you haven't worked with free-space pages, you should be able to find how to create them in the help index.
