How can i match my Dna to Isaacs?

I am an Isaacs by birth however, I would like to find out how true this is in my Genes as I have been told various things of people and in search of my father. I do not know anything of my paternal line and would like to know whether I am Isaacs or not.

its such a confusing life not knowing who I truly am but being given a surname with no meaning. I would like to be able to have closure.

I am with adoption angels as well but I would also like peace of mind and have other people of Isaacs and see how closely I am related to the surname

If you are concerned about your paternal line and confirming a surname along that line, your best bet would be a Y-DNA test.  The Y Chromosome is passed down only from fathers to sons so it should help you determine which surname is most common on your paternal line.

However, the Y-DNA test is not as valuable as an autosomal DNA test for finding a broad match of recent and near-recent cousins.

I was asking as I have already submitted my dna. Ydna, mtDNA and Autosomal dna from various companies. unfortunately I have tried to understand it but I don't. I was asking as I have seen several Isaacs and various surnames with DNA tested beside them.
The Y-DNA Test (to my understanding) will confirm a family line travelling back up through the paternal name (Son to father, to grandfather, to g-grandfather, and so on) for a number of generations. If I understand it correctly, where you will "intersect" with cousins through this test would be where the two of you match on a common relative. So for example, if you share a g-g-grandfather Isaacs, you would find that you have a match at that relative, and would be able to genetically tell that this was a common ancestor. If you don't have your line traced back this far (again, for example) and you encounter a match like this, it can confirm or at least lead you in the direction towards this common relative. At which point you might decide to dig deeper into finding sources that would confirm that this was your common relative.

So it's all about finding your matches.
