The Stanton Name Study is spreading out

The Stanton Name Study Report: This Study now covers more English counties than ever before:

Cornwall, County Durham, Cumberland, Devon, Hertfordshire, Middlesex, Northamptonshire, Somerset, Staffordshire and Sussex.

Do you think you may have Stantons from any of these counties? (or others, as well, of course!)  Visit the Study to learn more, put the category on your Stanton profiles, and work towards breaking down those brick walls.

Ros, I've added a few Stantons to your name study (and created a couple of those categories) from an Unconnected cluster I've been working on. There are some profiles in that cluster (actually from another unconnected cluster that I connected "my" cluster to) that I have not been able to properly categorize by county because the location designations are affected by the shifts in county boundaries, coupled with a registration district that appears to span county boundaries (and I don't live in England, so my knowledge of the situation is spotty). See, for example, Stanton-1618 (one that you've edited in the past). His birth was registered in Eton registration district, Buckinghamshire, in 1915, but Eton has since become part of Berkshire. However, the profile showed a birth location of Slough, Buckinghamshire, (maybe he was born in Slough, but Eton was the registration district?) and a marriage location of Eton, Berkshire. I don't know which county he belongs in.

Looks like he was born and married in Berkshire, but died in Kent.  Since the PM looks pretty unresponsive (2014 was his last contribution!) I feel OK about putting the category on this profile.  I'll put him in Berkshire AND Kent...

Thanks for supporting this Study.

I have some London Stantons going back from
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Stanton-2136

If you give me the link I'll add them I couldn't figure out how to do it from the study profile page.

Hi Christine

Just put [Category:Stanton Name Study] on the relevant profiles.  'London' is always an awkward one to categorise, with its districts and counties, so putting the main category on them will bring them 'into the fold' so to speak and I will then take it slow.

Thanks for this! :o)
Thank you Ros, they are all on now.
