How does the average user of WikiTree contact an Arborist?

Question

In the suggested language that the arborists should use for merge requests, we state the the profile manager should contact an arborist for questions or help.  How does the user find or contact one?  I would like to make sure that we are communicating enough information.

Good question, like much of Wikitree by the time someone really understands how to find help, they don't need it.

If the question is about a specific message, then a question to the person that posted the message is best.

Requests for Arborists help should be entered as questions on G2G with a tag of Arborists.

Seems awkward, but it is the only way to be certain that the question will be seen, arborists follow the tag and will respond.

If you know who they are , just private mesage them or post on their bulletin board.

I meant for the average user who loaded up their database, but doesn't really know all of the ins and outs of WikiTree.  We ask them to merge a couple of profiles and refer to Arborist; but how do they know who (or what) the Arborists are?

If you just wamt to contact any aborist that is able to help with a specific problem then posting in Special Projects and tagging arborists will get their attention. Arborists should all be following that G2G feed.

I admit the process does seem a bit vague. Perhaps there should be an open space page for 'problem' merges. Anyone can add details of the duplicates, aborists can indicate when they are working on the problem and all involved know who to contact for information.

If the arborists add [[Category:WikiTree_Arborists]] to their BIO section, their name will be posted on the above page.

 

I figure, the more places we are the better, till the search engines are streamlined.

I just sent the following to Phil.  Something I came across this AM.  Then if the person goes to our profile page, there will be another link added, in addition to the badge link.

Easiest way to do it, is on your profile page.  Go to thge Find tab on the right hand side, click on it and go to projects.  It will be listed there.
