Currently the person who initiates a merge only has the option to send a note to the second profile manager to merge the two profiles and the second profile manager gets to decide what information to merge. This is ok for someone who is not one of the profile managers… but
As the initiating profile manager I would also like the option to choose what information should be merged. Often the “passive” profile manager just approves whatever the merge brings up as default and important information is getting erased. i.e. one profile has an entire birthday while the other just has a year and somehow the merged profile only has only the year.
I know you can go back in afterwards and edit the information but it can be a lot of extra work to keep track of information prior to a merge in order to make sure that the correct information has been merged, especially if the merge happens a couple weeks after you initiated it.
If the initiating profile manager is also able to suggest what information is to be merged it would help insure the correct information is merged.
Also there are a lot of in-active profile managers that do not approve the merge so it sits “out there” for a long time. Can we put a time limit on the approval of a merge so that the initiating profile manager’s suggested merge would automatically merge after a few days? (a week at most) This would speed things up for us “active profile managers”
Any thought?
