David Elmer Gunter (right) poses naturally with a colleague, standing in front of a railway depot or workshop at an unknown location. They appear to be discussing a piston, or perhaps some part of the railway switching equipment.

I wanted to share this family photo of David Gunter with the community. Location: Unknown railway location.

This is a great photo Mark,

It's very interesting how focused they are on the objects in their hands.  Looks like they are considering how to fix something.

Both men are wearing 2 layers of collared shirts; must have been the style.

Full heads of thick hair!

The window trimming is nice.

 Thank you for sharing :)

Thanks Keith! This is the only photo I've been able to find of my grandfather. A couple years ago I spent many hours trying to determine where it was taken by googling photos of railway terminals, depots and workshops of the lines he had worked for, but I came up empty. Somewhere, I have the documentation for the lines he worked for. He worked in Tennessee and eventually followed the rail lines to Louisiana, where his descendants remained during my time.

Very nice photo, Mark. I enjoy photos that are not from studios because they show people at work or at home and dressed the way they normally look. Thanks for sharing.
