Ignored merger requests

I propose that any profile manager that does not act one way or another within two weeks of a merger request  should be removed as a profile manager ... at a minimum

It is very frustrating to hit a road block due to an unresponsive PM. But one must take into consideration that a PM may have had surgery, or other personal reasons they are not connected with cyberspace for a period of time.
Two weeks is a rather short period of time. People do have lives outside of Wikitree.
I'd have to say this seems rather harsh.

Hi Michael,

Your idea is not a bad one however it is already clarified in the guidelines.

See: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Merging

Unanswered Merge Proposals

If a Pending Merge is ignored for over 30 days — if the Profile Managers do not complete the merge, reject it, or set the profiles as Unmerged Matches within a month — it will be cleared for any Wiki Genealogist (any signer of the Honor Code) to complete, reject, match, or remove it as they deem appropriate.

Best regards

Thanks for the input Steven
Hi Michael,

I appreciate your zealousness on this issue. It has been one that has affected multiple genealogist in different ways. There has been multiple g2g talks about inactive profile managers and there impact on wikitree. I realize at this point this doesn't change the policy. I choose to believe that there was some great consideration done before some of these policies where put into action. As they affect all members of wikitree.

I'd say Pass is a legitimate option.  The PM can think, I  know nothing about that other profile, I'm not going to say I think this is right.  But I'm not going to block it, I'll leave the opportunity for somebody else to decide.

The greater menace is the people who won't leave it for somebody else, they think they have to block any merge they're personally unsure about.
