Help with Natchitoches ancestors

Hi Jacqueline Girouard and all,

I'm looking for help with my ancestors from Natchitoches,   What I have is what I would consider weak sources and there are other contradictory sources.  I have found a land grant at some point to an early Vascocu.  Vascocu-5 is extremely weakly sourced and I'm almost embarassed to own that profile.

Another ancestor in the Natchitoches area that I'm having a bit of trouble with is Stephens-6962, something of a transient apparently who married Vascocu-1.

Appreciate any help anyone can provide.

Thanks

I will look for sources for Vascocu-1 & 5. I sent you a photo of the index to the book I have Title: Abstracts of the Catholic Church Registers of the French and Spanish Post of St. Jean Baptiste des Natchitoches in Louisiana: 1729-1803; Compiler: Elizabeth Shown Mills; Volume II; Cane River Creole Series; Polyanthos, New Orleans; 1977

Thanks for the help!!!  This is a straight maternal line so maybe it's time to pull out the proverbial checkbook and go for the mtDNA testing!
Yes, I had mine done through the Mothers of Acadia Project. The result showed that the last Gr-grandmother I have (Marie Unknown) was not a woman of a First Nation tribe as some thought, but was European. Stephan White at the U of Moncton validated my maternal genealogical line so that's a good thing.
