Welcome

I would start here with importing your GEDCOM from My Heritage.

There is definitely a learning curve with using Wikitree, but you can get lots of help.  Eventually you find that it is the easiest tree to use.  Is the person who advised you to have your tree here available to help you make the move?  You can download your entire My Heritage tree and upload it here, but I would probably start by joining, then setting up profiles for your father and mother so you get the hang of how it works.  If a friend can help you with that, so much the better.  Then see if you like it and if it works well for you, and maybe have your friend help you upload part of your My Heritage tree, work on that part, and go from there.  Taking it slowly so you can learn the ropes would be the best way to approach things.
